Colour blindness test
Reading test
Stopwatch
Results sheet
a list of congruent words
a list of incongruent words
A pre-written instruction card
Hypothesis - "there will be a significant difference in participants' information processing times under two conditions as a consequence of the Stroop effect."
- hand the congruent list of colour words to the participants and record and time their speed with a stopwatch
- repeat the same step to the incongruent list of colour words
graph all this into a table and chart and whatever i can think of...

by timing people while they look at the diagram below
im gonna test their speed and their accuracy
so..who wants to volunteer??

TAKE 4
The STROOP EFFECT shows how the brain deals with conflicting information. It is interference in the completion of a task caused by one area of the brain dominating and inhibiting the response of other functional areas. Take a look at the following list of words: yellow, red, green, purple, brown, blue. Name the colors each word is displayed in as fast as you can. You may find that you hesitate or stumble, because your brain is attempting to process two conflicting pieces of information: a color, and a word naming a color. Most Stroop Testing includes a much longer list.
This interference is caused by the dominance of functional area of the brain that interprets written language, where the brain determines the meaning of words. Interpreting written language and speaking are classified by scientists as a "local stimuli."
........................This is just some background info on the stroop effect, here's the stencil i will be using for the experiment:
#3
okay so i'm practically pulling all of my hair out the other day to find another psychological exp cos the rollercoaster one was abit unrealistic. i mean, im not paying for 30 tickets!! and i dont think theres that much seats on one rollercoaster anyways >w<; so... after pigging out on the <; so... after pigging out on the $1.20 chocolates which i have only paid 90c for with my 砍价asianess(my eng tutor will be devastated to see this poor grammar), i, being the procrastinated fob that i was, started watching the jap drama Annie gave me and that's where my new findings have come from!!!!!!!! yayyyyy~~~ i've decided to do something simple involving at least 30 ppl and the"STROOP EFFECT"(oh my, i sound so smart)
So basically after watching that drama about brain science, i have chosen my experiment as to see whether the human brain really is conditioned to recognize shapes AFTER colours as humans tend to judge things from their colour first.
--------------------------note on drama------------------------
*sighs if only kame was the main character...gahhh he still looked good in ep 3 even though the rest of KAT-TUN is kind of dead now>@< wait except for jin, of course* ooh and disappointed in mizushima, he looked so pathetic...how did he turn out so goodlooking in meichan?????
ok pls ignore this part=--=;

EXP #2
kekekekeke~ i have finally decided.....on the "determe if motion, associated with roller coaster riding, and emotion, such as anxiety and stress, affect short-term memory" experiment.
this would be interestinggg ~hmm... i still need to determine the amount of people i need for this...and the venue...since im going overseas soon, and its cheaper there, i should get like my extended family and cousins to do this ~~ohohohohohohoho
okaayy so independent variable- selection of words/numbers/picture (still deciding) remains constant
dependent variable- the amount of correct answers each person will remember
hypothesis(do i need this?!)- the participants' average scores would likely be negatively impacted by the motion and emotion associated
with the roller coaster.
each participant will need to take the test beforehand though...to be able to compare with the results after the ride,,so im thinking about 20-40 people? or is that too much?
things i need for the experiment -->stopwatches, recording sheet and a collection of the same material for the participants to memorise.
ahhhhhh this is gonna be fun~~~~~~keke

NEW FINDINGS;3
ahhh found great ideas on memories....
- manipulation of memories
-plant false memories into the brains of unsuspected individuals, through creative methods, like the process of suggestive questioning.
-difference of memory between introverts and extroverts
-if suggestion can distort a person's memory of a picture (called the suggestibility effect)
-determine if motion, associated with roller coaster riding, and emotion, such as anxiety and stress, affect short-term memory (i like this >w<) -determine whether people who wear eyeglasses are perceived by others to be more intelligent than people who do not wear glasses. hmm...still not sure~~ omgahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh jst realised this things due in less than 7 hours..... >x<
