TAKE 4
The STROOP EFFECT shows how the brain deals with conflicting information. It is interference in the completion of a task caused by one area of the brain dominating and inhibiting the response of other functional areas. Take a look at the following list of words: yellow, red, green, purple, brown, blue. Name the colors each word is displayed in as fast as you can. You may find that you hesitate or stumble, because your brain is attempting to process two conflicting pieces of information: a color, and a word naming a color. Most Stroop Testing includes a much longer list.
This interference is caused by the dominance of functional area of the brain that interprets written language, where the brain determines the meaning of words. Interpreting written language and speaking are classified by scientists as a "local stimuli."
........................This is just some background info on the stroop effect, here's the stencil i will be using for the experiment:
#3
okay so i'm practically pulling all of my hair out the other day to find another psychological exp cos the rollercoaster one was abit unrealistic. i mean, im not paying for 30 tickets!! and i dont think theres that much seats on one rollercoaster anyways >w<; so... after pigging out on the <; so... after pigging out on the $1.20 chocolates which i have only paid 90c for with my 砍价asianess(my eng tutor will be devastated to see this poor grammar), i, being the procrastinated fob that i was, started watching the jap drama Annie gave me and that's where my new findings have come from!!!!!!!! yayyyyy~~~ i've decided to do something simple involving at least 30 ppl and the"STROOP EFFECT"(oh my, i sound so smart)
So basically after watching that drama about brain science, i have chosen my experiment as to see whether the human brain really is conditioned to recognize shapes AFTER colours as humans tend to judge things from their colour first.
--------------------------note on drama------------------------
*sighs if only kame was the main character...gahhh he still looked good in ep 3 even though the rest of KAT-TUN is kind of dead now>@< wait except for jin, of course* ooh and disappointed in mizushima, he looked so pathetic...how did he turn out so goodlooking in meichan?????
ok pls ignore this part=--=;
